Odyssey
A social deduction game of trust and betrayal on an epic journey. Uncover the traitors before it's too late — or bluff your way to victory.
What is Odyssey?
Odyssey is an online social deduction game where your group embarks on a perilous journey together. Hidden among the travelers are traitors working to sabotage the expedition. Through debate, deduction, and secret votes, the group must figure out who to trust — while the traitors try to stay hidden and derail the mission.
Think of it as a modern twist on classic hidden-role games, designed from the ground up for online play with built-in voice chat.
The Point of the Game
If you're on the good side, your goal is to successfully complete the journey by advancing through enough stages. You'll need to identify the traitors and prevent them from sabotaging key moments.
If you're a traitor, your goal is to delay and sabotage the journey without getting caught. You win by preventing the group from reaching their destination — all while keeping your cover intact.
How It Works
- Setup — Everyone is secretly assigned a character with a role. Traitors don't know who their allies are — they must act independently.
- Camp — The group debates who should go on the next leg of the journey (the Vanguard). You can also bind players you suspect of being traitors. Share information carefully — the traitors are listening.
- Journey — Players in the Vanguard secretly vote to advance or delay the expedition. Good players always want to advance. Traitors sabotage — but must keep it plausible.
- Repeat — The cycle continues until the journey succeeds or fails. Each round brings new information and new accusations.
Rules at a Glance
Roles are Secret
Each player is assigned a character with a hidden alignment. You know your own role, but not anyone else's. Traitors can see all roles in play and may claim any of them.
Vanguard Selection
During Camp, the group decides who goes on the journey leg. Only Vanguard members vote on whether to advance or delay — choose wisely.
Secret Voting
Vanguard votes are secret. The result (advance or delay) is revealed, but not who voted what. This is where the deduction happens.
Binding Suspects
If the group suspects someone, they can vote to bind that player — removing them from future Vanguard selection. Use this power carefully.
Special Abilities
Each character has a unique ability that can be used during specific phases. Abilities can reveal information, protect allies, or create chaos.
Winning
Good wins by completing enough successful journey stages. Evil wins by causing enough delays. The game ends when either side reaches their goal.
